One of the very few things I miss on the Prius is a 6 or 8 way power seat. I also like leather. Is anyone interested in a group buy on a power seat with everything that's needed to install it? Does anyone know of a place that sells and/or installs power seats for a Prius? Thanks.
I'd definately be interested; however, I believe there are some safety concerns in modifying Prius seats due to the side-curtain airbag integration. I'm unsure of the exact reason; however, my dealers has only noted that they will not touch the seats in a Prius that comes with factory side-curtain airbags.
mmhmm.. it'll be waaay easier for those people without side/side curtain airbags. You probably could even put those nice big Camry seats haha.
I would be very interested. We have been looking at a Prius to modify with hand controls to accomidate my wife's disability, as the car seems to fit her well otherwise. But without available power seats, we are not sure if we can make it work.
We just started looking for a power seat for our 2007 - sweetie's getting older and is having difficulty getting in/out of the car. She was about to buy a new car to get something with a higher seat, but are now wondering about raising the driver seat or installing a power seat. I've heard that some people have raised the seat height by fabricating spacers. Any info here on that? Or, has anyone looked into putting installing the power seats from the later model car into the Gen 2? One thought we've had was to find a shop that does low rider work, and see what they can offer. Some of the low rider machines have incredible interiors, and the techs and designers are very good with electric and hydraulic motors.
