After almost 7 years with my 2013 Prius C, I've finally jumped the gun on ordering a Model 3 AWD. It will most likely not be saving me any money, but we got to live and enjoy life sometimes. Giving the C to a college sibling, since trade in was only going to give me 3600 for a car that I took great care of and only has 77k miles.
good luck with the move.. enjoy the care either way. i went the other route.. from a model S to a Prius Prime Limited. i love TESLA when the car is working, but you will not like customer service. and the build quality is not as par as with the other luxury brands.. again don't get me wrong, i like driving it. but the service ( polar opposite of toyota/lexus) is what made me left the brand.
Thanks, this is very validating to hear from someone with firsthand experience. They have horrible reliability as reported by owners to consumer reports, but everyone seems to disregard that when I bring it up. I've owned a few luxury brand cars, they've all been junk except for Lexus when it comes to the luxury of commuting 25,000 miles a year without worrying about my car breaking down.
"not working" as in the software scrapping out? and (some) features stop working/get finnicky? or more like the HV battery crapping out? Thanks I'm coming from a "budget" car to a semi luxury car, so my expectations of some quality may be low (seeing some videos where people point out some panel "gaps" that I'll probably just miss or not care about, but I guess some other gaps/misaligned parts/panels do stand out a lot)
simple things like the door not presenting itself/ getting a stuck door. things like that. with so many model 3 and model Y, serivce department cannot keep up. panel gaps you can live with, however if you're paying close to 50,000 for your model 3 then that isnot acceptable.
Picked up my 3 last night Kids (and I) love the acceleration The regen is much more aggressive than what a C has (I think it's even more aggressive than slowing down in B gear) which I also like, since I try not to use my brakes as much as possible
