    Hi folks,

I have recently found the wire near emergency brake pedal has some wires popping out. I am not sure if it's there in the beginning or it's something new. Can you tell me if you know what these wires are for?
Can they be exposed like the one shown below?

    I have a prius 2 2017 model.

Let me know if this image is clear or else I can attach more pictures if required.

I can’t tell from the photo, but it might be part of an aftermarket alarm system; these are sometimes installed by dealers before cars are first sold. Clear photos, showing the top and bottom sides of the connector and the colors of the wires, could help confirm whether or not it’s an original part of the car.

The Electrical Wiring Diagram (more info) shows all of the wiring and connectors installed by Toyota.

The fact that the colored wires are not fully covered by the black tape wrapped around them.....means nothing.
Tuck the wire bundle with it's connector up out of the way and don't worry about it.
The actual wires are NOT "exposed".
