I was driving and p3018 code pop up, I already were dealing with the hybrid battery modules, so I imagine I didn't replace all the modules were bad. But when I was parked suddenly the prius shut down and the power button didn't do anything, the am2 fuse was blown so, I wanted to know if the hybrid battery dead could be the cause the damage fuse. Sounds like you have a blown inverter coolant pump (aka DTC P0A93). Check for turbulence in the inverter coolant reservoir or by placing a finger/stick on the pump housing, neither method is foolproof. First replace the bad pump, then the AM2 fuse. Here is the workup for for DTC P0A93 : https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/repair%20manual/04pruisr/05/21bpm/0a93346.pdf
Well, I can't even start the car. And, last year I change the coolant pump Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Using a voltmeter/multi-meter, what does the 12v battery voltage read? You may need to charge the 12v to get the vehicle to turn on, which will then allow the HV battery to start the ICE.
I just buy a new 12v battery two weeks ago I ask before if the car can start with de Hybrid battery under 200v, and people answer me that, it will not start. But I want to be sure if a fuse could be burnt for saving the battery from damage. Just to discard other problems. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Disconnect the inverter coolant pump (picture below), and then replace the AM2 fuse, does the vehicle start? Be sure to replace and reconnect the inverter coolant pump before driving again.
Yes, it was the coolant pump...again. But, I'm upset because It's the second time it happens. What can I do to prevent it burn again? Thanks for your help Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Not sure there is anything you can do, beyond using OEM parts and purging the inverter coolant loop of air. That failed pump should be covered by a one (1) year warranty at the dealership, get a free replacement.
