I have a 2005 Prius the navigation system stopped working. When I press the Map button, the screen displays "the external system is not connected" also the voice came on and said voice recognition is off. Could it be a fuse or need to reset? It was working fine then just went black. I restarted the car a few times but still no work. Also where is the player at on the 05? any help..
You might be hitting http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...bleshooting/33923-mfd-issues-04-05-prius.html. Prius MFD has a cheaper method of fixing it, if you know someone who can do the soldering work that's required. I believe pEEf and some others (http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...ng/90899-help-mfd-gone-blank.html#post1278735) can also fix them but pEEf and Luscious Garage are nowhere near you.
My navigation system stopped working about a year ago. It displays horizontal white bars when I click on map. Everything else works, audio, climate, etc. Once in awhile it will work (for 2-3 days about once every 6 months). I have been searching for others with this problem. The dealer says I need an entire new unit. The toy shop says the cannot fix it as only dealers can. Ideas, thoughts, suggestions?
I just finished my hybrid battery rebuild and took it for a test drive. I noticed the same issue. Curious if you found a solution.
