    Hi !

I just received my new Android head unit and I want to set it up in my Prius 3 2009.
This is the one I ordered (including CAN and OBD2) :
    3G-4G-Android-6-0-1-Octa-Core-2-GB-RAM-Voiture-DVD-Multim-dia-Autoradio.jpg
3G/4G Android 6.0.1 Octa Core 2 GB RAM Voiture DVD Multimédia Autoradio Pour Toyota PRIUS 2009-2013 GPS Navigation Radio BT Wifi (sorry, I can't add a link yet)

The back looks like this, with all cabled plugged:
    IMG_20170922_180442.jpg

Here's what it looks like right now:
    IMG_20170911_181347.jpg

So, I unmounted all the racks around, and unplugged the existing radio.
And that's were the problems started...

The old Prius radio connectors looked like this:
    IMG_OLD_2_XS.jpg

None of the 3 Prius connectors and antenna cables fit in my new radio.

In order to add some more info, here's what is provided with the new radio :
    Cablage.jpg

Would you happen to know any connectors adapters that would help me progressing in my radio setup ?
And eventually, out of curiosity, could you please tell me why the existing Prius antenna plug has two outputs ?

    Thanks for all,
    Mehdi

    hi
when i did mine they send me 2 types of cables. So all the cable doesnt have to be connected.did u try to run the head unit with only one cable? If that doesnt work then you need another cable.

It could very well be then new head unit does not have all the functionality of the factory one.
Connection information is best discussed with the manufacturer or vendor, assuming they said it would work for your vehicle.

    Hy Saltdiscus !

On my new radio, I need to plug all the cables.
The one that you see plugged correctly on the big pictures earlier is the one (brown-brown-black) carrying Key 1, Key 2 and SW ground.
So I can't even have Power +12V and ground (yellow and the other black) plugged right now without the correct adapter or without recabling everything.

Well, they did tell me it would work for my car model and year..

Does anyone has the wiring diagram of the legacy Prius 3 radio (that one we see annotated "Old autoradio rear view") ?

Thanks again for your answers. Il also contacted the vendor...

OK. I found my legacy radio's (Toyota 86120-47340) wiring diagram, played with Photoshop and post it here for posterity ;)

I "just" need to match my Android head unit cables with this, now...

Generally with AF radios there's adaptors you can purchase at Audio stores to keep the stock head units wiring intact. If the manufacturer didn't send you a wiring harness for this but advertised that it's compatible (they didn't provide proper wiring so it's not) then I would contact them and solve the problem. Please don't start hacking at your wiring before finding a simple adapter harness first!

Something else: if this is an eBay purchase, you can get this resolved much quicker if the seller is slow or refuses to help you. It's not likely most eBay sellers are eager for positive feedback but in the chance they aren't simply state it's a product that isn't as advertised.

    Wish you luck!

    Thanks.
    You were right.
They just sent me the wrong harness.
Here's the correct one they're sending me back.

I hope this thread is not dead, I have a very similar situation, same or similar android unit and same old radio. I have 6 speakers in my car and cant get the 2 in the front doors to work, I have been trying to figure out how those 2 speakers are connected but cant, Looking at your diagram on top I have not connected C and D, but reading what is there they dont seam to be needed for these speakers. Anyone have any Idea how these 2 speakers are connected, extra amplifier or something?

    Hi!

    Wow, my first message...

My car is Prius PHEV -12 (LHD). I installed new speakers (Focal IS 690TOY), and I made the acoustic treatment on the front door at the same time (huge difference!). Now i want to upgrade my old head unit (non navi, non JBL) to android head unit.

I wound this on AliExpress: BYNCG Android 8.0 FOR TOYOTA PRIUS

Does the original reverse camera work with that? Do i need some harness, or something else...?

So, new android head unit ordered from aliexpress... Android 8, eight core, 4GB, 32GB and so on, free reverse camera and free shipping from United Kingdom to Finland.

I have now owned this Prius about 4 weeks, and bought new wheels (17" CT200h) and tires (Continental), speakers (Focal), sound insulation (Silent coat) for the front doors...o_O Cheap drive with Prius? No...

I'm doing this right now. I'm no expert, but from what I understand the factory cam is 6v and most aftermarket units output 12v. Metra has two options.

Ax-cam6v which is just the step down converter.
    Or
Ax-toycam2-6v which is the converter and harness

They are like 11 and 25 bucks respectively

I have the same adapter but it doesn't work for the steering wheel buttons because none of those connectors have the adapter for the 20-pin connector for the steering wheel buttons.

    you have solved it?

    Thanks!

hi guys, i have a somewhat similar problem. i have a 2010 prius XW30 and i bought it with an after-market android head unit, so i don't know what the original radio looked like, but i assume the basic cd player. i'm trying to replace it but i seem to be missing the L84 plug (12p) on the wire harness that contains TXM+ and TXM- for CANBUS. anyone know what module can i get CAN+ & CAN- signals from? (sorry.. can't upload pictures yet) :(
