new here, shopping for pre-owned 2016 or 2017 Prius. I'm having a hard time telling, does the Three/Three Touring Safety Plus Package by definition include Intelligent Park Assist? I see a handful of listings that include the Safety Plus package, and they'll spell out that the car includes Intelligent Clearance Sonar and Blind Spot Monitor & Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. But they very rarely will state that it includes IPA. Does the fact that it has the Safety Plus package inherently imply that it has Intelligent Park Assist? I feel like it's a feature I would potentially use, but it is very rare to find any listings that mention it. Thanks for any advice.
I personally would avoid IPA. There seems like too many people finding it to be finicky. Plus, I don't trust a car to park itself without crashing into other cars.
For 2016 and 2017, Intelligent Parking Assist was only available on the Four and Four Touring Models, as part of the optional Premium Convenience Package. I have only used the feature once or twice in 3 years of ownership in parallel parking situations where space was tight. It worked well in those instances. When I bought the car I was curious about how well it worked, but probably wouldn't have paid extra for it, except that I needed to purchase the PCP to get the Integrated Navigation that I wanted.
Really? It came as part of factory equipment? I'm not seeing that as an option for the Model Two in the brochure. You must have a very unique automobile.
The Safety Plus Package came part way through 2017 so brochures may not be updated. This is for a 2018 but I believe the package contents stayed the same from midway through 2017.
IPA is part of the Safety Plus package on my wife's 2017 trim two. But I would never use it. It also includes BSM, ICS, and rear cross traffic, which are very nice to have. First item on this list: 2017 Toyota Prius Options & Packages
