Hey, Y'all!!!! I'm back and happier than a clam in chowder!!!!! The last year has seen some major ups and downs for me, but I'm back in the game, for good I think this time! After my 09 Prius got totaled last year in August I had a run of bad luck, had to buy a piece of junk dodge van for transportation, had my Goldwing stolen, and work went from 5 days to 4, and tips dropped off significantly. I finally had enough in November and started job hunting since I had three days free. Applied at a bunch of places but Safelite Autoglass set its hook and I landed a job with them. After training for several weeks I went full time and never looked back! I am now making double what I was before and my stress level is dropping off significantly! You are probably wondering what brings me back. Well, my family all pitched in and sent me an early birthday gift, enough to buy a new to me Prius. A beautiful 2010 Package 3(I think), in my favorite shade of blue. I think it's cobalt but Toyota calls it something else, lol! I will share pics soon!
congrats... you're blessed to have family to help! Learn all you can about EGR valve and oil catch can to ensure long life of your 3rd gen...
Not that I know of but I read about it last night. I will be doing that tomorrow if I can find gaskets, next week if I have to order them.
The gaskets in the system now will be fine. Use the weekend to your advantage . Good luck with try the circuit cleanse .
Last year was a tough one for me as well. Was hopeful about this year till Covid the 19 came along. Sincerely hope your Safelite journey continues to do you and your family well. And..........someday another Goldwing.............
You may be the only person in North America who actually came out ahead in 2020. Don't let this go to your head. Prius colors have never been quite the same since the "queer eye for the straight guy" crew got loose unsupervised in the Toyota paint booth. I owned an "Aqua Ice Opalescent" Gen I for years and I still don't know what that is in plain English...
Ken, A week ago I would have agreed with the coming out ahead thing, but it's been a roller coaster, and not the good kind. I had food poisoning one day and work forced me to take 4 days off to be sure it wasn't Covid. Then, I failed my stress test at the cardiologist and had to go back for two days of chemical stress test where they pumped me full of radioactive crap for the imaging. Then, on the day I got my results, a partially blocked artery in my heart, I ended up spending most of the day in the ER due to a Transient Ischemic Attack, or what they call a Warning Stroke. They wanted to keep me overnight for at least a day but after discussion and no further symptoms they agreed to release me so I could go back to work. Missing so many days has really hurt so I have to work as much as I can to get caught up.
Wow it's in really good shape! I wish you the best with all of the health issues. Glad you have something to look forward with your new car
