Hey all, new to Prius but have always driven Toyota(s) for the past 25 years. As soon as we heard they were introducing AWD to the Prius line it was a no-brainer for us, 50+ mpg and extra traction for northeast winters? Yes please! First thing we did was pop off the hubcaps and order Toyota center caps. Cleaner and sharper look IMO. Just replaced the archaic stereo with a Pioneer floating unit, the 9 inch model's fit and finish looks even better than stock and has exponentially more functionality with Wireless Android Auto, Carplay, and an idatalink maestro tying in live data from the ECM. Best purchase thus far and likely the best stereo on the market right now.
Congrats on the new car and stereo . Would you be able to show us the car info menu screen in this head unit such as rear view camera quality and hybrid info ? Thanks and all the best,
I will consider it - thank you. I was happier with the infotainment system in my base-model 2015 Ram than I am with a 2019 Prius ... the OEM system is a bit ridiculous, really.
Thanks man, we love the car and now ever more with the upgrade! DMH-WT7600NEX, Pioneer also sells a 10" unit the 8600NEX. Thank you, it was quite the feat to find the exterior/interior color combo but well worth it! I'll snap some shots later today and post, no hybrid system info but given you can display on the dash we never used it on the stereo. Ditto on the OEM system, subpar for a 2019 offering and maddening that it was the best unit you can get with and AWD Prius. Definitely recommend the Pioneer, tranforms the driving experience and frankly completes the Prius.
Thanks man! We knew were getting a Prius as soon as we heard they were coming out with an awd version. We love it even more now that it has a proper head unit befitting of a Prius.
Wow, that's slick. Did you preserve the microphone location? Does this mean that you cannot access your Prius' intrinsic GPS? Our Prius GPS is rarely used.
Great upgrade on the audio. Did you install it DIY? OK, how about all the steering wheel switches? Do they function as intended?
