Hello all! This is my first post on these forums. I'm glad to be part of the community with rich content I have used before and currently. I used to own a Gen 2 Prius which I sadly had to let go because the catalytic converters were stolen. The car was a trooper, never had any major issue, and I ran it to 240,000+ miles and intended to keep her for another 200K+ miles until the cats were stolen. Engine, hybrid battery, and everything pretty much ran flawlessly. I did a 4000 mile road trip recently and the CEL came on a few times for the O2 sensor but it wasn't a huge concern. We got back 1 day after that trip and I was so proud of the car as it made the distance and some pretty crazy mountain passes in the northwest part of the country. Well rather than fix the car, I decided it was time to move on to a Gen 3. So I recently picked up a 2011 base model Prius 2. No bells and whistles but it has low miles and I intend to do more road trips with this vehicle as well. A few things I have noticed which I will post in the other appropriate forums hoping to get some insight. Any way, I'm glad to be part of the community here! Hope all is well with everyone and I'm looking forward to the dialogue and interaction!
Thanks! Yes I installed the cat shield the day after I purchased the car. Hopefully that's enough of a deterrence.
Welcome. 2011 here as well, but with 210K+ miles. It has treated me well except for the too common Headgasket failure. Where are you in the Bay Area?
