I've searched the forums pretty hard and have not found an answer to this question, forgive me if I missed it elsewhere.
I'm reconditioning the traction battery in my 2006 Prius. I've already identified one cell as bad, and the reconditioning process is going pretty well, with one exception. My cell # 1 has given me "Capacity Cut-Off" messages twice, with two different chargers. Here is my set-up:

I'm using 4 HTRC C240 Duo chargers (8 cells at a time) and I am doing 5 Discharge then Charge cycles. Charge is 5 A, Discharge is 1A and 6.4V cuttoff is set at 7500 ma, and the rest is set at 5 minutes. I took the cell off the charger and tested it with no load (8.36V), with one minute of 100 watts load (7.76V), and a final voltage of 8.28V five minutes after the load test.

My question is, is there a problem with this cell, or is it just in good shape and hitting the full charge early?

    Thanks!

I believe the error means that one or more of your modules might have been overcharged and or discharged. This probably means that one or more of your modules have low capacity. When a module is at low capacity they tend to overcharge and discharge and a simple before and after reading would not pick up any issues because the voltage can bounce back quickly as soon as you take the load off. You need to determine the capacity of you modules , if there is a module/s whose capacity is too different from the average those are the ones that are giving you the problem. You can also look at the voltage UNDER load and compare it to when it is idle , any big differentials will also cause issues.

Did you load test your cells using the C240? If so, how?
