Would it be possible to integrate sirius xm with the stock radio looks like this. It's the prius 3. I want to avoid changing the stock radio, looks like it might be difficult to take out, but it may not be. I do have an aftermarket radio laying around that had sxm. But I really like the functionality that I can change the settings of the car on it with the stock radio. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
My gen2 had a port on th back for auxiliary devices, but to be sure call crutchfield and ask them, if you buy and they are wrong, money back.
That's good to know. Would it be possible to point me in the right direction to take apart this lovely radio from the dash?
I'm getting ready to install a Vais SL3sat-T that I bought from Crutchfield into my wife's 2014 Prius. Also bought the Sirius XM SXV300V1 tuner which comes with an antenna. As I understand it, you can gain access to the rear of the stock unit by going through the glove box. The you just plug in the SL3, plug the Sirius XM box into the SL3, plug the antenna into the XM box, and it works as another input source with the stock head unit. Supposed to work very well from what I've read. And no need to remove the head unit. I think it'll take me longer to install the antenna than the sat radio. I'll post an install thread if all goes well next weekend. Michael
By any chance, is it the 2014 prius 3? I read that it wasn't compatible with it. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Hi Michael, I'm going to do the same install in a few weeks and just curious how this project went? My concern gray USB port on the back of the head unit.
