hello, first sorry if there was thread like this. i search but did not find info about this. is there any software to check how much health left to my li-ion battery? nissan leaf using software LeafSpy can detect state of health, is there any soft like this to check out battery healt? my plug-in first showed 14.6ml range, not it shows about 13.1-13.7. i know this is dependes how and where i drive my car, also wheather and temperature matters. my friend hase same plug-in and his range is amazing between 20.5-21.2ml. he has same 1 gen prius plug-in 2014 year model. thanks and soffry for my bad english
no, you would have to get toyota tech stream. what are you driving? 20 is impossible, unless he is going downhill. mine started around 16 and is down to 14 on back roads at 30mph with few stops.
yes he lives place, when he start drive negins downhill few miles, but when he returns home he muay go same uphill. this is his cars screen. as he told he drives agresive and has very low MPG. most ofnhe uses HV mode then EV mode.
You know that the EV range you get depends on speed, roads, weather etc. You might get as much as the number on the dash, you often will not get as much. Your friend's car shows a big number because he drives downhill to start his trip in EV mode, but he will not be driving uphill in EV mode. If he drives on a flat road with a full battery he will not get any more EV miles than you do. The number on the dash is a prediction, not a guarantee. Your friend is getting a big prediction from only using EV mode downhill.
Well, he might have selected EV mode, but that doesn't mean the ICE won't run. If he drives aggressively in EV, he's turning on the ICE very frequently.
Just turning on the aircon will reduce the predicted range by about 10% or so. It varies a lot based on previous journeys.
Just bumping this thread up, as I still don't get how to check the battery health? Is techstream capable of looking at the individual modules in the PiP Li-Ion battery? Does it even have modules? Thanks!
Yes, Techstream will give info on each block. The Dr. Prius app automates things quite a bit for testing your battery and lots of our member use that product. Hybrid battery diagnostic and repair tool for Toyota and Lexus
yes and yes. it won't give you a health check though, just the actual voltages under load. you will have to interpret the results. i have read the u/k dealers do a health check on regular prius?
Some info, and I don’t think it’s unique to Brit’s, it’s built into Techstream: Toyota Hybrid Health Check - Toyota UK Magazine Ask local dealership if they know about it? I’d second @jerrymildred ’s Dr Prius recommendation too. I’ve only done the static test but gives some insight.
