I am Japanese. Posting via web translation service. I'm sorry for the weird English. Video input to Gen2 Prius 2005 model (non-nav) was successful. It has already been changed to a model (nav) hi-res MFD in 2006, but it is working properly. I used the Japanese version of the TV tuner "86010-47010" and the CD player "86120-47140". Connect the power line of the TV tuner and connect the Tx + and Tx- of the 5-pin coupler to the MFD 6-pin coupler. Connect the composite cable to the 6-pin coupler. Connect the 20-pin coupler and 10-pin coupler of the CD player and start the engine. When you press the "TV button" on the CD player, the image input to the composite cable appears. When you are done, you can remove the CD player. Attach it with an appropriate video player. Now that I have purchased the US MFD "86110-47210" on eBay, I will install it when it arrives from the United States. Thank you.
Hello. I installed the MFD I purchased on eBay because it arrived. The result was bad. The North American version doesn't seem to have a composite video input. I recognized the Japanese version of the TV tuner, but could not switch to TV mode.
There is no connection diagram for it as it failed in US version MFD. Can I use the connection diagram of the Japanese version MFD?
Please show me the picture of the MFD when the engine is started and the picture of the coupler on the back side of the MFD. May be helpful.
Sorry for replying late. MFD of my Prius is this. Unable to took photo from behind Prius373MFDstarting by ayaz farrukh posted Sep 4, 2020 at 11:47 AM Prius373MFD by ayaz farrukh posted Sep 4, 2020 at 11:47 AM Prius373Tape by ayaz farrukh posted Sep 4, 2020 at 11:47 AM
Wow! It's a late high-quality version! What happens when I press the TV button on my CD player? If you switch to TV mode, the Prius will have a tuner. The tuner is behind the left rear seat. I think there is a blue coupler, so if you connect an external input adapter for Toyota DOP navigation to it, VTR mode will appear. In order to watch while driving, the parking brake line and vehicle speed line on the back of the MFD will be visible.
