Airbag Light On After Slapping Dashboard

    I live in an area where sometimes critters (mice) might take residence in the engine compartment if I leave the car out, so I often slap the hood as I am getting in, to scare anyone in there off. A month ago I managed to slap the top of the dashboard and the airbag light came on and it's been on ever since.

    I just did an oil change and the shop tried to reset it (not sure how) but said that it didn't help.

    Any ideas if I damaged something or a way to reset it myself?

    Best to read the trouble code(s) from the airbag computer, then we'll have a better idea what it's complaining about.
