Being the world’s first gas/electric hybrid-powered luxury utility vehicle, Lexus inaugurated a new era in luxury in vehicles with the introduction of the 2006 RX 400h. Lexus has broadened the RX 400h’s appeal with a new front-wheel-drive model and revamped offerings in both standard and optional equipment.

My wife has the 2006 model and thoroughly enjoys it with avg. 26.4 mpg - does the RX400h now have tire press. monitoring as found on the Prius?

    I believe so.

I got about that number when I took it for a test drive in May 2005. 9.0L/100km which included an acceleration test, country roads, 80-90km/h highway and surface streets (~30 mins test drive).

We are considering a hybrid SUV as a second car. I was hoping for a 4wd minivan, but
don't know how long a wait that would be. Does the Lexus recomend regular grade gas?
Has anyone compared the hybrid Highlander and Lexus?

it takes normal gas. i don't know anyone with a hylander hybrid to compair yet. in articles the systems are exactly the same. the interior is less sound proof in the hylander. But.. it's all about the same car.

Should be the same a slightly quicker to 60 because it's lighter. I haven't driven a HiHy yet.

They are essentially the same vehicle. A fellow co-worker of mine has the RX-400h and I've driven many of the Highlander Hybrids; aside from some luxury features on the Lexus, they really are one in the same.
