I just replaced my 2007 Prius hybrid battery using newpriusbatteries kit - install was smooth and straightforward. However I now have a full set of cells that I'm not sure what to do with. Are the used cells worth selling or should I take them to a local disposal company? Either way I don't really want to piecemeal them out, I'd rather sell/dispose of them all at once.
A matching (serial #) set of modules has value, stick them up on CL for $140 and someone will be elated to take them off your hands. Of course you could try for more $, or just give them away as well. If CL is too much exposure, use the PC sub Private Sales | PriusChat
Thanks! I'll look around for authorized hybrid repair shops and/or post to CL. If no hits then I'll contact Toyota and see what they say.
Not at all! I ordered the kit on May 28th and they were on backorder, expected June 8. However I got an email on June 4th saying it shipped and I received the kit on June 10 (4 weekdays). I think it shipped out of Colorado Springs, CO. So all-in, for me it was about 2 weeks from placing the order. I also got an insulated socket set and class 0 electrical gloves as recommended and I was thankful to have them.
