Connector near 12V Battery

    I found this wire just hanging near the 12V battery. It looks like a sensor, but I don't see any place for it to go.

    Battery temperature sensor. Attaches to the battery hold down clamp. I have seen rumors that the car uses battery (12V) temperature to regulate system voltage, so it does not overheat the 12V battery while charging it.
