    @AzusaPrius

You have self proclaimed as being new to the Prius. It's easy to get caught up in trying to help, but there are few things worse than providing inaccurate information to posters who come here seeking advice. Maybe you should step back a bit on providing advice as if you've been working on Prii for years. Maybe just provide input on topics in which you have significant experience.

Well AzusaPrius, I agree that board is very demanding and intimidating to new posters if the poster doesn't agree with their advice. So far you work for Sears, GeeenBean, and now you need a spanking. (pay no attention to the dog man, I'm pretty sure he's senile based on a "discussion" I had with him about the speed limit and just in general reading his postings). I have seen new posters come here and ask a question and rather than help the person they (not everyone but many) chastise the poster and tell them what they should have done differently. Such as they should have bought new battery. Also if anyone doesn't clean out their egr and install an oil catch can then it's 100% guaranteed atitude here that they will use oil and/or blow a head gasket. Never mind the probably hundreds of thousands of gen3's that went 200k+ without doing any of that. But you see they don't come here to post because they didn't have a problem.
So I had a 2006 with a "rebuilt" hybrid battery. I drove it 2 years and the guy I sold it to has had it almost 3 and hasn't had a problem. So we got 5 years so far out of a $500 expense. Yes it's a risk, but not everyone has $1200 or wants to spend $1200 on a car with high mileage already.
Same with a salvage car (which I have). The reason we don't pay full value for one is because there is no warranty and there's a possibility that something wasn't repaired properly of wasn't diagnosed as damaged. So for 3 years I've done only oil changes and tires and I've put 33k miles on it..no problems whatsoever. But hey, you should always buy new...cars batteries, whatever.
Now some of the stuff you have posted is incorrect, but I'm sure you'll learn without me lecturing you and accusing you of having a motive.
Anyway, this is why I pretty much just sit back and read and don't post much because for the most part this is a demanding and accusatory bunch (if you have a different opinion on anything.)

Definitely correct and I think that was the primary beef. Reviewing the posts, they are not asking or seeking advice, but posting misinformation and refusing to be corrected. While you are probably right that eventually he will learn, the Google search engine catalogs everything, including misinformation. So I applaud those in this thread who have continued to set the record straight despite substantial push back and insults.

Thank you for weighing in as somebody else who has done pack reconditioning and testing in depth.

We discourage buying commercially rebuilt packs because it is not profitable for them to spend the time needed to do it correctly. Buying a pack from @TMR-JWAP for instance is OK because he is a hobbyist who spends the time to properly rebuild, balance, and test to verify the pack.

Just had a green battery installed: So far So good. I contacted Green battery on Wednesday, and had an appointment on Friday. New reconditioned battery installed and up and running in less than an hour. I am in Los Angeles, and Matt Nemeth was the installer, very punctual, very respectful, clean and curtious ***** five stars to Matt. highly recommended
I will give updates about the battery as time goes. $1449.00 installed at my house. Dealership wanted $3500. also Ive been going to the same dealership since I bought my 2006 prius. screw them as they charged me $188.00 for a diagnostics.
Screw you toyota of santa monica.
auto parts store would have done for free.

Wow, Toyota forced you to bring your car in and forced you to do diagnostics???
Why didn't you go to the auto parts store and get it done for free?

Did they not tell you ahead of time how much it would cost?
Did you not have the choice to except or decline the work????

I could be mistaken, but at my local Toyota dealer that price was for the full Techstream run down. You wont get that at Manny, Moe, and Jacks.

Enjoy having a lifetime warranty back your battery up. Great choice for those who just get a whole battery replacement. Dont let anyone else make you feel bad about your purchase. They are upset they didnt pay that price and get a lifetime warranty.

Gee, interesting very first post. Seems almost like a commercial for Green Bean Battery.

Hmmm.... who else sounds like a commercial for Green Bean Battery.

And who "liked" your post right away.....

And who immediately quoted your post....

And who else is posting from California....

And who has some of the same exact same spelling/grammar errors.....

Somehow, right after the forum kinda trashes Green Bean, this "commercial" for Green Bean gets coincidentally posted by a first-time poster.

I think it would be impossible to get the two of you in the same room at once.

And a lifetime of having an unreliable car that can fail at any time. You will likely get frequent visits from your local installer if the warranty includes installation. Otherwise welcome to DIY pack swaps.

Which will of course only happen at convenient times when you don't need to use your car for a week.
