Hi all, Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I pick up my Salsa Red / Tan #9 Prius in two weeks from the dealer. As a technohaulic, I am like a kid in a candy store reading about all the goodies in this car. Just a word of encouragement to anyone on a long waiting list: I decided I wanted the car last week and only spent a few days perusing the various web sites before I found one with the color and options I wanted. I do have to do a little travel to pick it up, but my wife and I are looking forward to a nice long weekend drive home with the new toy. So from decision to delivery was a total of 3 weeks. There are cars out there if you are willing to do a little hunting. One big question is what to look and test for before leaving the dealership that I will most likely never visit again? I have read the FAQ articles and read the dealer prep checklist. Is there any additional advice before hitting the road for the long trip home? Thanks, Mike V. <><
Yes, I spent about $900 over MSRP but I needed the car now and it was that or passing on the Prius altogether. Given that the price of the car would have been $300 more by the time I got one (2005 model most likely) I consider the gouge to be only around $600. That I was willing to pay to not have a 6-9 month wait. So I happily join the ranks and am counting the days to delivery (work prevents me from picking it up sooner). Cheers, Mike
I just took possesion of my #7 from a dealer about 2hrs away from Denver. They were a small place and as far as I could tell were very honest. The car looked and drove great, so I had no reservations. If something should need to be repaired, I'll just take it to my local Toyota dealership. What are you concerned about specifically? Ernie
Any more close to LI? I'm on the Island as well, and just placed an order with a dealer in PA who says I should have mine "in about 3 months." Do you know if the dealer you bought from has any more available? Thanks, Geoff
