2020 Prius AWD-e Price Paid

Hi.
Apologies if I missed an official thread for a non-Prime 2020 Prius.
I am close to finalizing negotiating for a 2020 Prius LE AWD-e.

Numbers below.

Should I push for another $750 off?

I'm between CarGurus Good and Great Price.
CO tax rate is 8.485%.
Dealer Discount is $2,072.
Toyota Mfg. Incentive is $1000.

MSRP with Options: $28,448
Dealer Discount $2,072
Dealer Price : $26,376
Sales Tax: $2,289
Dealer Handling and Filing Fees: $636
Manufacturer Rebate: $1,000
Final Price: $28,301

So the dealer responded with a no on the price reduction I asked for.
Still waiting for the two other dealers. One is also quoting $28,301 all-in. The other does not have inventory for this trim level on their lot and would have to procure the model from a competitor dealer.

Any other input or price paid history for your purchase that you would like to share?

 

Thanks, Mendel Leisk. I did see those AWD tests on the rollers. Definitely unsettling. I realize the Prius is no Subaru. I was looking at the Forester and Outback. I weighed reliability, gas mileage, ground clearance, and maintenance costs and ultimately decided to put gas mileage first while still wanting a little bit of additional traction. Hence the AWD-e LE.

 

Hi Mancuz28, I ended up playing two dealers against each other and finalized a price point of $25,817 before fees and taxes, but including $617 in options (rear bumper applique, all weather mats and cargo mat, and body moldings).

Silver AWD-e 2020 model year

Tax in CO was 8.485% ($2,1818.56) + $622 in dealer handling fees, less $1.000 TFS manufacturer rebate, for a grand total of

$27,620 out-the-door.

So about $700 less than the amounts in the Original Post.

I realize I likely could have paid less were I to have waited until the 2021s come on the lot and Toyota increased the incentive from $1000 to $2500 like they did on the 2019 Prius. Unfortunately, I could not wait that long.

I'm happy to share with others the successes and failures I had when dealing with 10 dealerships in the area.

All-in about 13% of MSRP and lower than invoice, which was $27,393.40.
Also lower than dealer net price, which takes invoice and subtracts dealer holdback ($613.00), which the dealer gets from the manufacturer when selling the car: $26,780.
