Trying to program a new key with techstream software. This is not a smart key. All I have is a plan key for now. Ordered a uncut key/fog online. I got the fog to lock and unlock but it will not see the key. I had a hardware store cut the key and it turns but no ready light. Am I missing something or is this only a locksmith or dealer thing?
Assuming you have a master key, and this is going to be a spare, about 70% of the aftermarket keys people bring me, that they bought on Amazon or wherever, don't work for the ignition.
Maybe I'm missing something but if it needs to "see" the key for the system to "start", doesn't it need to be a smart key ??
