Hey Guys, I'm new on here & this is my first post. Just wondering if anyone has replaced sway bar links, as my passenger side link has a torn boot. I bought this car off an old lady with only 39K miles, so not sure why this is happening! Anyhow, my question is: would it make a difference to install better, aftermarket links?? The car is completely stock but thinking about lowering it though...
I replaced my failed sway bar links with Moogs. Reputable company that sells on Amazon. I believe they cost half of Toyota OEM. They've been working on for several thousand miles with no hassles. I would recommend them. How do you know yours are bad?
Seeing as your in Canada i dont know but i used meyle hd drop links, part number 30-16-060-0053/hd. Ive done close to 80k on them No issues. Would recommend you do sway bar bushes as well easy to do and cheap
I did the Moog links at 149K while doing brakes. Boots were shot, links are cheap and the Moogs have grease fittings so I can lube when I rotate tires. Rattles when turning or going into a driveway disappeared. Takes maybe 10 mins if you have tire off already.
Moog is now and has been absolute Chinese garbage. Bet you bought them at Rock Auto. Half price of oem and you think its better? Its not its not even half as good. Denso is the best. That's why it costs twice as much. Buy OEM on line like Olathe Toyota etc.
I've thought of getting the Moogs. Do you ever re-grease them? They recommend it every oil change. But I'm wondering whether the non-greasable ones are less hassle.
Thanks. How much would a shop charge to do this each oil change? And what is the downside of buying links that don’t need to be oiled after install?
