Hello everybody, I have issue with the center dash. It takes sometimes up to a minute to turn on the radio, clock and mfd. Is it just my 12v battery? i think it's the cheapest regular one you can find, that fits, in finland. I think that delay got bit shorter after changing jbl to android hu or maybe i just got used to the delay. Off on voltages go from 10.9 to 14.x
Actually problem came back. I have changed the 12v battery, fuse and tighten the battery post bolts. Today this has been coming and going on my work trip with multiple stop. It Iooks like the relay works. When it finally starts i can first hear the relay click. Delay time is completly random. Anything from 2sec-5min to never. It's really frustrating.
I have led interior lights, android stereo and ethanol conversion, but the problem existed before any of these was installed. Problem is maybe somewhere where the impulse comes for the relay
Got it! It was my studip head! I was for some reason toying with acc and dome fuses, when i should have been changing panel fuse. Hooman errors... Du dum
Ok. Now i got the radio to boot on time. With clock on. And mfd. Then clock flickers. And everything went off. Krap! Been swapping fuses but the panel is black...
Ok. I'm going to get some oem fuses from toyota tomorrow, bc i dont trust my poopy aftermarket bit too long and bit too thic fuses. Mebbe it helps...
I replaced the fuses with oem toyota fuses. Works better, but delay is still there. 10sec-1min today. So i think the fuse block could be the issue. Is there an easy way to remove the fuse block under the steering wheel?
Ok, it's connectivity issue. The current for/from panel/acc fuses is not constant, that's for sure. Relay can't flip if the current ks not enough. But there is no relay after the rear light relay. And the rear lights work. Only thing between panel and the relay is the fuse box.
Ok. Found the issue. Fuse box is loose under the steering wheel. I can tap it and radio starts to work instantly.
Actually, that didn't fix it. Cause was a corroded ground cable from battery to the chassis. I sprayd it with some deox spray and the mid section of the dash starts right up. It was tight, but too much corrosion made the connection bad. This caused the power ecu to delay powering up the section to conserve the battery.
