Hey all, wondering who might have some experience with the dr prius app; i try to run the life expectancy test but my battery gets low enough that the car starts charging with the engine before it can finish. As a result the test ends early and my estimated battery capacity is 57%. I have a hunch that the 57% is an overestimation since the app doesnt realize the reason the test ended was that my battery was too low to continue, rather than an accidental charge. Any thoughts or input on that thesis? Attached a pic of the end of the test as well as a general screenshot- should i be concerned about the internal resistance shown? Many thanks for any ideas!
@ericbecky has some experience with that App, and you should also try sending a PM to the App developer @jacktheripper Please report back with what you learn.
Hi Eric, Dr. Prius App was designed that way. The battery blade reach it's lowest point (around 7.0 volt) right before starting to charge, that's when the App knows the discharge cycle is over and put all the number together for you. Don't need to worry about IR until they hit 30+ milli-ohm. btw, 57% for a 2005 Gen2 is pretty awesome, original pack or 2nd? Jack
Thanks Jack! Very much appreciate your expertise. You are correct, previous owner replaced battery with OEM replacement in 2011 or so.
