Neither actually, but if somebody held a me at gunpoint it would DEFINITELY be a Corolla. Not even close. I WOULD however, have to be close enough to see that the weapon was loaded before I would be compelled to chose either....
Tough choice. Corolla is cheaper and still quite spacious but Prius is familiar and has hatchback utility, plus available AWD-e if that's a requirement. You really can't go wrong with either (not the answer you're looking for lol). For me, it's Prius. especially if you wait for 2021 and get TSS-P 2.0 (which matches the Corolla)
I have a 2010 Pri with 75K. I drove a new Corolla hybrid that stickered at 23K. Very nice and you can't beat the price. But at 6K a year the Corolla is a much better deal for me!
I need to sit in the drivers seat in each one to make my decision. How deep is the floor and how many blind spots do I have are my main concerns.
I'm the wrong guy for a Prius. When I bought it, I was at the low end of annual mileage for a Prius to make sense. I've moved closer to work (and now I'm not working at all) so the Prius makes even less sense. But I own it, so I'll drive it into the ground. The main reason I bought a Prius was that I wanted a hatchback Toyota, and the Prius was the only thing in my price range. Splitting the difference, my next car will likely be a Corolla Hatchback
Given how our driving conditions and needs have changed in the last year we would probably choose the Corolla if the Corolla and Prius were our only two options. The extreme heat out here for months in a row every year is brutal on hybrid battery packs. We don't need to drive anywhere nearly as often as we used to (retired, kids not driving to school) so whatever we would get would spend most of its time parked in the garage with the 12v hooked up to the Battery Tender. Being over 65 and both of us having forms of arthritis, if our current Prius needed to be replaced we would opt for something a little larger and more comfortable for our annual cross-country trip (we're not going this year because of the virus).
However, now that it is official, I actually wouldn't mind the new 2021 Sienna. Yeah I know, another big vehicle. But, I really could use the extra room for what I do weekly. The monthly miles I have driven over the last 5 years has gone down and the only time I do drive a lot is for long trips. This would be much more comfortable for me and the family.
I like the Sienna too. According to Car and Driver it will only be available as a hybrid with a 12 mpg increase from the previous model year. . It could deliver up to 33 mpg average depending on configuration. 2021 Toyota Sienna Looks Wild and Comes Only as a Hybrid
