I had a similar problem but also had red triangle of death and engine light. A fresh tank of higher octane fuel seems to have fixed it, I've only travelled 100 miles or so with the new fuel so I'm not sure if its just a coincidence.

The dealership had a visual inspection when they were under the hood.

I did bring it to a local mechanic, who ran the scanner, from whom I got the Cat Conv code and misfiring.

Having changed the ignition coils and spark plugs, the only code left is the generic P0420 for the Cat Conv.

Will look up how to clean Throttle Body and MAF. Hopefully that'll do it.

Yes, I've been using higher rating gas since then. Misfiring codes are cleared since we changed the coils and plugs. Car is still slow uphill and in general though.

Agreed. I listed it for sale. Inspecting forums like this to try and fix it for whomever is looking to buy it though.

Lucky you. I've been using higher octane since, but the performance is still similar.

Also used Fuel Injector cleaner with a couple of fill-ups, but issue seems to persist.

Is the traction battery the 12v or the Hybrid battery?

It's the big one, the one with enough power to supply traction to move the car.

You may also hear the 12v battery referred to as the "auxiliary" battery.

ICE is the hybrid-nerd way of saying "internal combustion engine" as a sort of shibboleth to keep newbies feeling like outsiders.

From the priesthood, the explanation is that people would be too confused if we just said "engine" to mean the engine and "motor" to mean one of the electric motors.
