Sounds like the OBD2 reader isn't up to the task, can you find a toyota hybrid compatible scanner?

Many here prefer a mini-vci cable, and a copy of Techstream (same software used by the dealership).

You could also try a bluetooth/wifi OBD2 adapter with an App like Dr. Prius (aka Dr Hybrid), or another App like Hybrid Assistant.

quick note: if you want to run techstream, you'll need an obsolete laptop running either Windows XP or Windows 7.

 

Yes, and it works on devices that are capable of running windows (including tablets) or an emulator like Oracle VM VirtualBox

Not only for winblows XP or 7, as the microsloth 8 and 10 variants are also possible, be it 32 or 64 bit flavored.

Would be interesting to see if it could be run within WINE : WineHQ - Run Windows applications on Linux, BSD, Solaris and macOS

 

That's good to know. I had not heard any success stories with Windows 8 or 10

 

Wondering if you ever resolved? I have the same issue on an 2007 that sat for 3 weeks. Replaced the 12v (it was weak), car started and drove fine but warning lights all came back on after driving about 2 miles.

 

@ericbecky will set you straight, be it advice, a new OEM install, a low mileage recovery, or a single module swap into an existing pack.

My 2007 Prius is showing the exact problem you described earlier "Got red triangle, brake warning, check engine, plus car outline with exclamation mark in upper-left corner of the MFD.". When this happened last week, there were only three "Red triangle, check engine, exclamation mark on car icon in MFD", I was able to reset it using by disconnecting the HV battery plug (YouTube), and also unplugging 12V battery (from Youtube). We were able to drive short distances for almost a week, but then yesterday all the icons you mentioned happened after a 30 mile freeway driving. I am wondering if the fix is as easy as replacing the "Inverter Cooling Pump" (never done this myself). I am worried about driving now, as the earlier unplugging HV battery and 12V battery does not seem to clear this display. I can still drive the vehicle.
How did you resolve this issue? Thanks.

Just had this exact problem—all of a sudden all these same Symbols/lights went on and then two hours later the hybrid battery was dead. Should have noticed earlier by the way the battery would drain and recharge rapidly. Was on my way to the dealer when car stopped accelerating and wouldn’t charge at all.

 

Just replace the cell or module yourself. So many YouTube videos DIY.
