2016-2019 Toyota Prius Plug & Play Remote Start Kit (Push Button Start | 12Volt.Solutions These people 'claim' to have one for about $300, but I would be very VERY VERY reluctant to hack into a 2018 Prius's wiring for an aftermarket bolt-on. Here there be danger..... One of the things you might discover, especially as a middle aged male in America, is that sometimes product performance < product advertisement. Just sayin.... BTW...your bio says you have a 2010 Good Luck!
I did have 2010 till a deer came out in front of me that was end of my prius.i rather have a professional put it in so I don't have to worry about it. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Appears that it "can" be done...and quite frankly it's a good feature. If I found myself in possession of a G4, I'd probably think about it myself. Good Luck! If you find a good solution, start a thread and review your results!!!
You might still have to worry about it.......until someone is walking by, notices it running and breaks out the window and drives it off. I am just guessing here but wouldn't an after-market remote start HAVE to disable all of the security features in order for it to start......thereby making it "ready" to drive off ??
No to remote start, but what you can do is open all the windows and the sunroof if you have one, all at once, by holding down the "open" button on the remote (the car is parked, not on, sunny warm day), if you are not too far away from the car. A nice feature. And it isn't running so no one can drive off with it. I had a Chrysler with remote start and unless you had the fob, even though it was running, you could not drive it away, broken window or not.
Don't! Every aftermarket electrical item that my dad and my husband's dad had installed over the years had been done poorly, with the exception of early Japanese factory authorized "dock installed" AC units in the early 1980's. Even when I've installed ad-on's with no cutting or soldering of wiring, one of the first things that dealer's blame car a fault on is the aftermarket item, even when the car is under warranty. And, modifying the wiring can and will likely void the warranty, not withstanding the 1975 Magnusson-Moss Warranty Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act.
Has anyone on here had a remote put in the 2018 prius? If so who you recommend? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I installed the 12 volt solutions remote starter on my Gen 3. It was very easy to install and was all plug in. It would be very easy to remove and put back to 100 percent factory. It was a little more than some of the other offerings but I liked the plug and play part. If I end up with a gen 4, I would not hesitate to use them again (or the one I have now if it will fit).
