Or maybe, as I read somewhere, you may get this response if you are a SS recipient. Don't ask me why.

Which could just go back to there not being enough IRS workers to get the system up and running for sorting out how to handle those on social security. Those that have done their own taxes know the process isn't simple for many. I don't see it being easier on the other end in the IRS.

'Fraid I did the same thing.

$2000 in savings....$400 towards additional spending.
If they pay additional "stimulus bucks" then I'm going to 'stimulate' my JIC savings account in like manner.

As far as helping the economy, our base spending is probably up 25% over OPs Normal, which is being cash-flowed with OT.....since somebody out there thinks I'm 'essential enough' to keep on the payroll..............

    .......for now.

We're laying in a few extra beans not only because we're crazy preppers but also for friends and family that might need a little help later in the year when the realities of months off of work starts to assert itself in people's family budgets.

I expect our church pantry is going to start drying up fairly rapidly pretty soon - so we have a place to put the overflow. ;)

Same here. Being spending a lot at the local Target, Homedepot and local grocery store. Also, been doing a lot of auto detailing on all 4 cars. Wax, tire clean, etc. That $2400 will really be used in June or July.

I got my love letter from Trump saying I did. On the same day I made some charitable contributions from my 401K RMD. This year making them early and increasing significantly those that go to food banks.

Yesterday, a got a canned letter from the IRS with a copy of Trump's signature on it. Stop wasting my time and the public's money and process my tax refund. Last year, I would have already gotten it.

Very many of the people processing paper forms were sent home last month. Their work is just stacking up in storage trailers until they can come back with adequate protections.

The workers answering the telephone help lines were sent home too. Without work-from-home setups.

Come on now, we know you framed it and hung it on the wall. Admit it. Didn't Trump restart the manned space exploration program that was suspended in 2011? Isn't that something you, with that kind of background, can be happy about? Take a look at the recent threads you've started....they're all doom and gloom. You need to get happy about something instead of being forever unhappy/miserable. Find something to be positive about in life.

    As for tax refunds?
Waiting until the late stages to file is on you, not the gov. Everyone I know filed before the end of Feb, except me. I didn't file just because I didn't feel like it. Probably would have done it April 14th, or filed an extension, and then this Covid stuff came up. Everyone that I know that filed, had their refund by the end of March....me, I really don't care one way or the other. I just haven't felt motivated to do it yet this year.

Word has been out for a couple weeks or so that the IRS was extending the filing deadline to July because of Covid and they were going to stop processing annual tax filings so they can focus on stimulus stuff.

And for those who don't like to wait for refunds, why not adjust your withholdings to try to net zero it? That's my personal preference. I don't need to give the gov money all year just to hold it for me.

Frankly, my friend, I don't even need the money.

One thing is true. Trump's autograph will never be worth anything, because it cannot be authenticated.

Unless the document is a specific one, there is no way it can be distinguished from one signed by an autopen. He always signs with a felt tip marker.
