Anything but Ipod!

I hate to tell you, but short of an in car PC or other such homebrew (usually hack-y) solution, you're not going to find much. The iPod is what everyone's supporting (as far as interfaces and such) because the iPod is what everybody's buying.

As a long time Apple supporter and someone who's had an iPod since back before it was cool ( ), I'm personally thrilled to see Apple on the "mountains of accessories" side of the fence for once.

there is some kind of hacked firmware that allows you to keep folder structure. i forget what its called exactly, but i hear it works really well on all but the most current gen i think. so, reconsider ipod

edit: ROCKBOX is the name of the firmware. google it

 

Rockbox is an excellent alternative OS, however it doesn't allow for integration with steering wheel or MFD. You'd have to use the AUX port to play thru the speakers and use the player's controls.
