Here are some pics showing a front license plate bracket but I do not know for which car . I have a 2016 Prius c and a 2015 Prius. Can someone tell me for which car this bracket is for?
What makes you think that's a license plate bracket? It seems to be PAD, FRONT WHEEL OPENING, a 53851-52190 - Genuine Toyota PAD, FRONT WHEEL OPENING
Having access to a fancy printer allowed the printing of a fake "plate" for the front .... ie, no frame necessary; no - no one got cited for the heinous crime Got TONS of smiles & inquiries, once folks saw it for what it was. But the fun is over ... not just because we unloaded the ride. Apparently California now SELLS vinyl sticker/plates for a hefty fee of course. I'd heard about this ... then a few weeks later, i saw the red car in the grocery parking lot & asked the gal if it was a legal one. She said yep. So - within a couple years - we went from cool to just another sticker Maybe your state has this as a revenue stream as well !! Nice thing is - after they went legal, the cops never gave ours a second thought. .
I think you are right. I guess it is not a license plate bracket. I wonder why I have it. It was in my car when I bought my Prius c 2016 new from the dealer. We do not need a front license plate in our state. But when I bought my other Prius new from the dealer in 2015. It was with the front license plate bracket in the car but not on the car. Same as this part that was in my Prius c. I just assumed it was a license plate bracket.
It’s a private company, License Plate Wrap, authorized by the state; the price is $70. See the California DMV’s Report on Alternative Registration Products Pilot Program (PDF), August 2019, pages 7–9.
Oh no. Hey, I'm just old school, to me a license plate...needs to be metal. needs to be able to show age, be chipped, cleaned, cared for, and now? I'm guessing giving everyone a big "license plate" sticker, has got to be cheaper and faster to produce, and a considerable amount of people are going to like it because of the convenience and NOT having to have brackets, screws etc, etc... So I'm afraid I've seen the future, and it's adhesive.
