The other day on one of the TV entertainment programs, Leonardo DiCaprio was interviewed after arriving at a premier in his Prius rather than the typical limo. He gave a boost to the Prius when interviewed, in essence saying it was 'the right thing to do'. Realizing that stars like Lenno, Larry David, (name more if you know them) drive and boost their Prii, led me to wonder if any of them are chat members. Or perhaps Danny might send out some invites.

But the big question is whether they would make their own entries or whether their publicists would do it!
Symbolism over substance in my opinion. Ever thought about the thousands of gallons these hollyweirds burn in their private jets when they fly across the country to speak on their issue of the moment? I mean come on -- fly a corporate jet and take a Prius to the gig? Well, maybe it's better than nothing -- it's early and I'm grumpy -- pardon.
Well, personally, I try to PERSONALLY respond each time I post, and not have my publicist, secretary, or agent do it for me. As for my Lear Jet, in an effort to further my "green" approach to life, I gave that up.......        have a good weekend everyone!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mootsman @ Sep 30 2006, 05:14 AM) </div> Wealthy people are going to have an inordinate "ecological footprint" if they spend their money at all. But do you actually know that celebrity Prius owners fly in private jets? Or are you generalizing from a "rich people" stereotype to famous Prius owners in general? The point of a famous person arriving at a gig in a Prius is not that they're saving gas. What they are doing is giving the Prius some free publicity, and raising public awareness. As for the OP's question: I doubt that anybody famous would admit it on an internet chat board. They may be here, if they have time and if Prius technology or use is a personal interest. But as many folks do, they'll hide behind a user name. And if any of them have admitted their identities to Danny, they'd have asked him to keep mum about it. Personally, I don't care. Famous people don't interest me. The fascination with actors and athletes is as mysterious to me as is the Brits' fascination with royalty.

Just google around if you have time and you can find out what kind of jet Gore and Leo fly around in. You can even find out how many tons of fuel they burn and the type.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(daniel @ Sep 30 2006, 09:55 AM) </div> What? You don't wake up thinking "I wonder how Paris Hilton will be spending her day?"

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(daniel @ Sep 30 2006, 08:55 AM) </div> In my experience it's not individuals who are fascinated by these things - it's crowds. You see (on TV) great crowds at sporting events or lining the streets when monarchs/presidents, etc come along. I'm never in one of these crowds and I don't know anyone who has been in one (or admits it) so who are the people in these crowds? The fascination of newspapers and TV, radio, etc for football here in the UK and the size and enthusiasm of the crowds that attend matches is quite astonishing and not entirely a modern phenomenon. Similar crowds used to attend to watch public executions in times past. Is there a connection?
celebs are too busy dieting and working out to make the rest of us feel inadequate, to post here.

You guys remember Viggo "No Blood for Oil T-Shirt" Mortenson? I've seen him in a Prius couple of times. I was slightly acquanted with his son, and I know he got the car when he went to college. Don't know what Mortenson's driving now.
... Say you are wealthy and fly on a Gulfstream G400 jet. The plane will emit 1 ton of CO2 per passenger per hour. Flying commercial on a Boeing 777 will emit only .06 tons per passenger per hour. Wealthy environmentalists feel guilt about this, so they buy a carbon offset to supposedly reduce carbon emissions by an equal amount. The "offset" comes in the form of paying for solar panels or planting trees that "offset" the damage you have done. Buy an offset and — voilà — you are "carbon neutral." Americans are snapping up these offsets, according to Time magazine, and public figures such as California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., buy them regularly. In endorsing the practice, Time says the practice provides an opportunity to "pay for your carbon sins." Offset away our guilt
Armin Schimerman (Quark on Deep Space 9) drives a Prius. I gave him the MFD shuttlecraft upgrade: phasers, warp drive, etc. sound effects this wekend when I met him at the Secaucus NJ Star Trek Convention.
leonardo is pretty gung ho on the Prius. he loved the car so much, he went out and bought one for every member of his family. last i heard, he is up to like 6.
Funny this topic came up. I just saw in an article about the late Heath Ledger that among his assets was a Toyota Prius.
No longer back up but starter, Kyle Orton, got a a nice mention from the sideline reporter during the game last Sunday with Detroit. She said something like, "In a parking lot filled with Escalades, Mercedes etc there sits one Prius". She went on to talk about how Kyle speaks on green issues, lives the life and even started a recycling program at Halas Hall (where the Bears practice) And went to to add, "Thats MY type pf player"
