I understand the Prime can be set to limit charge current to 8A for circuits of 10A. Question is: would this slower charge rate be better for the battery? I would think so, based upon usual battery "likes" and "dislikes." Overnight charging should still get a full charge, so I can't think of a downside.
The battery will see substantially more stress and heat for a longer period of time by discharging (running in EV Mode) than any charging rate. Your car’s charger is equipped with a lot of sensors capable of utilizing both heaters and the A/C during charging. The only thing that’ll appreciate the lower charge limit is the car’s AC/DC converter, NOT the battery. iPad ? Pro
I would argue 16amp 220v charging is better for your wallet as the aid systems that waste juice don’t have to run as long making the charge more efficient
