Hello everyone! I have a chance to buy a nice Gen2 but it has some serious codes going on. I’ve been told it’s possible that a new 12 V battery will fix all of these… Was hoping for some other opinions. If the price is right, this could end up being the donor vehicle for my powertrain swap Thank you
Doubtful that a new 12v would fix all of those, but it sure wouldn't be hard to find out. Do you have a usable 12v, in or out of a vehicle? How many miles, and what is the asking?
well its at an auction, so I cannot try a new battery unless I buy it. And given those codes, not going to pay much. The coolant tank has a problem for sure, needs the pump changed out. No biggie. its all the other ones... the ABS codes and such. There was no light on accept the red triangle
The 12 V battery shows 12.1v with car off. 11.2 with headlights on. 14.5 with car running. So probly not the battery :-/ not sure if I’ll grab it or not
It sounds like it runs if you're getting 14.5v, how does the engine sound and does it roll forward and backward when in gear? The two (2) front sensors might be related to a heavy handed towing service. Which other ABS issues did you notice? Do you need the workups for some/all of the above DTCs, or have you already found them? What year, and mileage?
hmm... well I drove it around the lot and it was perfect. Plenty of power. The only thing I noticed was maybe a CV axel Code workouts I dont have, not sure what you meant glad to hear =). I went for auction and reached a pretty high number in my opinion before stopping and NOT selling. Will try again next week
