Hello good people of priuschat, I have a very straight forward question. Is there any known issues with the first year 2016 Prius? The reason I am asking is because I used to own a 2010 and it was also the first year of the generation, which had a few problems of its own. I am really thinking of getting a Prius, but would like the new body’s (2016+). Can’t really afford anything more then a 2016, but if there are problems with them would rather save a little more for a 2017. Thanks in advance and any input would be appreciated

16 has been a champ, doesn’t have a km/miles switch, but no biggies

I got a very early Gen4 - I think that it was from the first batch that was painted Hypersonic Red.

    Zero problems.

No problems - couple of recalls for wiring but they should all be done now. 2017 looked the same, drove the same, but some later in the year had an update to some safety features.

130k miles on my 2016 bought new. Not one issue maint is only tires, oil changes and plugs (at 124,000 miles). My 3rd Prius probably buy a 4th once I get to 300,000. Buy it !

Check the cabin air filter above the glove compartment for rodent damage. That's not a '16 versus '17 thing, just a soybean wiring harness thing.
