We have, oh, probably 25 houses on our block. My car makes the 3rd Prius and the 5th hybrid on the block. How many do you have? And off my own topic, I just sold my old car (02 Highlander) for about $3k more than the dealer's top trade offer, so I'm even happier about my Prius now.
I think mine may be the only one on the block. I've seen a handful of them passing through the neighborhood on one of the larger streets (which most folks use during rush hour to cut through or get around traffic on some of the main arteries as they run parallel), but have no idea if they live in the neighborhood or are passing through. My Prius does share subterranean garage space with an Escape Hybrid, which my neighbor bought shortly after I got my Prius. He wanted a Prius too, but couldn't find any available to test drive so he went to Ford instead and got another hybrid.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in our small town Although there was one parked on my block briefly when I got home from work last night. Someone else in town has a Camry Hybrid, though.
I live in a town of around 7500! and see one or two once in awhile.while at the country market i parked next to one,ive seen it a few times before,it may be a local. At work!im the only hybrid there, out of about 300 employees.Ive been told by some other Ct prius owners that they have seen quiet a few! but in my 15 mile drive to work i havent seen too many!Maybe 3 or 4 a week at best.
I'm the only one on my block. I've seen another one (same color amazingly) near the local shopping center and know of another older one in town.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(4chi @ Sep 28 2006, 10:41 AM) </div> Four. All different colors at that. Driving to work (not a long distance by anyone's reckoning), I usually see another four. One would think we actually had a Toyota Prius manufacturing plant (or at the very least a dealership!!) in our town.
None on our block or in the vicinity. It's odd, but I'm reminded of when I drove a motocycle years ago. Prius owners we see in traffic notice us and we notice them. My wife is the primary driver, and other Prius owners have waived at her in traffic, just like the bike riders used to waive at me on the road. What was interesting was that when my wife drove her car to work she had to take coworkers to lunch for a week so they could see the "space car." Most of them had never heard of a Prius. They asked why it isn't advertised, and my wife explained that when they tend to sell before they arrive at the showroom there isn't really any need to spend money on advertising. A coworker bragged that he gets 50 mpg on his motorcycle. My wife pointed out she gets 50 mpg and doesn't have to get wet when it rains. He wants one now.
i live in a 109 unit place. only one here. but do have several within 2 blocks of me. sitting on the west side of the hill facing the sound, we have quite a few upper end houses here and im surprised that there is only a 3-1 ratio of hummers, expeditions, and surburbans to Priuses... Volvos and and mercedes dont count.
Two, and a third ordered. Out of 20 houses. (In Albuquerque if my attempt to add information to my user profile did not work.)
Only Prius on my block and the only other hybrid on the block is DH's HiHy. But I have seen others passing by on their way into the neighborhood so there are more back there somewhere.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Taco Mel @ Sep 28 2006, 01:13 PM) </div> Wow I hope to have 2 one day. I am the only one in our neighborhood or EVEN NEAR US. My husband and I have had ours for over 2 weeks now and I have only seen a total of 3 in all the driving we do. One in his fathers neighboorhood, one at hubbys work and one on the road.
None on my side of the block. But go to Colorado BLVD and I can count one passing about every 20 seconds it seems. Wierd experience... At a stop light, two other white Prius's at the same light. whew!
Three. It's a cul de sac so there are only 13 houses. So that's almost 25% of the houses. Of course, most houses have more than one car so that is not a percentage of cars. Only percentage of households that own a Prius.
