Just saying hi! First time Prius owner. Didn't think I was actually gonna pull the trigger...but picked this up last night for $25k plus TTL. Includes all weather mats / cargo liner and dealer installed heated seats (scheduled to go in next week). On the accessories wish list Class 1 hitch Roof crossbars Get the dealer to turn down the damn reverse beeping. I heard some people have luck? Eventually winter tires and wheels, but will wait until next season Any other must have accessories I should think about?
Tell the dealer that you NEED the stupid reverse beep turned off. While they're at it, check they've activated the Global Window Open - that wasn't the case back in 2016, and the dealer had to do it - but they might have changed that.
Congrats and welcome. Yeah, the dealer should take care of that beeping for you. Tell them it's a potential safety problem because the incessant beeping masks other warning the car might give such as backing into a fire hydrant or something. Be aware, though that they can't eliminate it, they can only change it to one beep. Not sure if there's a volume setting on yours. Can't change backup beep volume on my '17 Prime. Also, for future customizations, there are plenty of apps that work with blue tooth or wifi (Android or Apple) OBDII adapters. You'll probably discover lots of things you want to change after a few weeks.
"...dealer installed heated seats..." I don't recall ever reading about dealer installed heated seats...Where did they put the switches?
I was skeptical too, but they have promised it...I have it in writing haha. We still need to schedule an appointment to have them installed. We were thinking of shopping around for an XLE primarily for the heated seats, but the dealer only had an LE in stock that I think they really wanted to unload, so that's how they enticed us... I will be sure to update with details once they are installed.
Hmm...my 2018 Touring switches are BEHIND the bulkhead, almost out of reach. I'm wondering, if the dealer installs the OPs heated seats, where they'll be putting the switches. I'm actually doubting the heated seats are a dealer installed option.
UPDATE. Got the heated seats installed. They work well and were installed cleanly, but I suspect they are just decent aftermarket options, not standard Toyota equipment. The heater control is a small round toggle switch (low / off / high) which was installed on the outside of the seat base facing the door. Not as nice as having the switch in the center console but hey...I got heated seats on an LE, so it's all good haha.
