Folks, I installed a set of LED low beam headlights on my car, and sometimes only one of the two led’s on any given bulb lights up (each bulb has two leds, 180° apart). I’m not sure if it’s the bulbs, or the connector/harness on the car that’s not making good contact. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It’ll be the bulbs. The car’s connector is an all or nothing deal, it’s not going to supply power to half of a bulb. The Hikari bulbs from Amazon work great. Their fans are a tiny bit noisy when the engine stops, but they throw terrific light with a great beam pattern in the H11 projector housings on my 2011 Prius III.
Thanks for confirming - that’s what I ended up getting. They arrived today and are already installed. Waiting for night time to try them out!
I bought the Auxbeam FT1’s first because they’re quiet and bright as hell in my girl’s Rav4. But they wouldn’t lock into the passenger side socket on the prius, no space for their cord routing. The Hikari’s drop right in, are every bit as bright with a great beam pattern, but the cooling fans are loud enough to be heard with the windows up when stopped and the engine cuts off. It isn’t a big deal and is worth the light. SO MUCH cleaner & brighter than factory halogens. Right up there with HID’s.
