Anyone else bored by the Prius color selection? I have owned 2 magnetic grays. White, red, black, gray, all boring to me. Yes, blue came along, but why don't they offer a burnt orange, lime green and a yellow? Might own 2 instead of 0 right now. Was considering a Tesla solely based on a cool color. Paint is a very minimal cost. Offer 15 of them to be unique.
You could always wrap your Prius in whatever color you want. Then when you grow tired of it, change it up. One option.
They do offer lime green on the liftback Prius, but only in Japan. The lead time from production in Japan to delivery to U.S. dealers is fairly long, so nearly all Prius cars sold here are built for stock, not built to order. I imagine this makes it harder to take a risk on colors outside the mainstream, since dealers don’t want to be stuck with vehicles that appeal to relatively few buyers.
Meanwhile, I could get a black or white. Not going to trade for those "popular" colors, ever. Such a risk to put something new on the lot. People will drive hundreds of miles for something different.
Not sure where in the great US of A you are located, but @PavelTune might know. I'm pretty sure his Prime isn't stock color.
Not sure if their "c" version sales (that did have a few specials colors) gave them answers? I do agree they should offer more colors. I had a Murasaki Purple Scion xB -awesome color! I just choose the blizzard pearl now, treats me well
As @Elektroingenieur pointed out, this one Thermo-Tect Lime Green Metallic 6W7 is available but only in Japan.
This was always the biggest reason to drive a Dodge. So many colors and interior finish choices. But then you're driving a Dodge. I think the Prius c looked best in Sun Fusion and Absolutely Red, but Habanero and Tangerine Splash Pearl were also acceptable. Too bad they couldn't do even those colors on the liftback.
I love my Supersonic Red, and the Blue Magnetism is a nice one, too. I had to wait a few weeks to get my red one, so are most people prepared to wait to get the colour they want?
We chose Blue Magnetism and that's distinctive enough. It even fits in well out here when you go to San Jose Sharks game. Go team teal.
Yup. That's why I chose Hypersonic Red (which is now Supersonic Red). At least it stands out in the sea of black, whites and greys (not even silvers anymore). Over here, you can have your used car colour in any colour as long as it's white. It's also a feedback mechanism. Because white sells, dealers tend to order white and thus those who don't want to wait, end up driving a white car because it's on the lot.
