Hey guys! I could use some help please. My AC isn’t blowing very cold and I bought a recharge kit. I am starting to doubt my purchase. I believe that I may need something with only R-134a and no oils. This can of EZ Chill doesn’t say it contains oils on the front of the can but on the back description it says “R-134a with A/C performance booster and oil restores lost refrigerant and lubricants system”. Does this mean it has the oils that I am not supposed to introduce to my ac system? Are there any recommendations on brands and products I should use? thanks!
Don't use that product. Try to read as many posting by @lech auto air conditionin as possible, that will get you up to speed with the AC system.
Just seen this post today I just got back from Nashville Tennessee MACS Expo in training seminars. It’s a good thing you doubted yourself on your purchase just find any can of refrigerant that says it’s only R134A that’s all no additives. The only thing I would say allowable in a can refrigerant if it had only UV trace dye in it but no oil additive. I can always tell those shops in my local area who are consistently the ones having the problems with air-conditioning and replacing parts that don’t need to be replaced on the other hand they’re the ones who don’t replace the parts that need to be replaced and cause other problems. They are the guys who are always asking questions and guessing on what needs to be done to do it right. (isn’t that funny they are the same guys I never see at any of the MACS expos and training facilities to learn more and invest in tools and equipment what a coincidence.) Mobile Air Conditioning Society | Home If you were interested in learning more and becoming one of the lead shops in your area lowering your overhead on losses due to miss diagnosis from your technicians make money by not losing money with the right equipment so your technicians can perform their jobs easier and faster and more proficient so you don’t rip off your customers or your technicians then click on the link above to learn more about MACS in the training courses they offer and provide in attend one of the training expos. But if you’re one of the shops owners or technicians who know everything And you are a God like Technician level just because you’ve been turning a wrench for 10, 20 or 30 or 40 years and that makes you all knowing. or maybe just cheap, lazy or intentionally ignorant then do not click on the link above because you know everything and it will be wasting your time. PS: I do not agree with using small cans to just top off the refrigerant in your car but if that’s what you’re gonna do that’s what you’re gonna do and nobody can stop . I would recommend possibly going to my photo album in discussions on showing damage caused by using refrigerant cans and maybe my YouTube channel and searching for the post video on charging Prius and how easy it is to overcharge or under charge just buy two or 3 ounces and the damage that it causes. Thank you all! Does anyone have any A/C specialist recommendations in Central Florida area (Orlando)?
if you look up some names of the shops and put in their ZIP Code name of city and state I believe this link will at least bring you to a shop that is a member of MACS ( Mobile air-conditioning society) MACS Member Service Shops I hope this helps you
