Hi everyone, long time lurker and I've been considering to trade in a '14 Honda Accord for a new Prius XLE. I test drove one the other day and went over some numbers with the dealer and was highly considering to trade in. But insurance is what turned me away. I have shopped all the name brands (AAA, Geico, State Farm, Farmers etc.) and also smaller companies and this is just way too much, its about $800 premium increase over my 14 accord. And even setting it at CA state minimum insurance with $2000 deductible for both collision and comprehensive, is still over (not by a lot) what I pay currently for my accord. Oh well, me owning a Prius is not meant to be.. 28 y/o male spotless record, 0 tickets. What the best way to get cheaper insurance?
Paying $160/month here with $1000 deductible. Are you on your own insurance policy or on your parents? Usually it takes time for rates to go down.
I wasn't sure what that was, but I selected "yes" to basically all the quotes that offered it. Im going to be own my own. my parents have passed.
Check GOOGLE - some insurance companies might have a link to information. A PRIUS has 2 recording devices built in, but I think Insurance insists on one which they have full access to.
Check with an independent insurance agent. They can get quotes from multiple companies for the best rate and they want your business.
Wow! And I was thinking my 2016 4 touring quote of $137/month was high... and that was for $250 collision and $0 comprehensive deductibles.
