Bought gas today at $1.97 just north of Kansas City, Mo. Never thought I would see gas under 2 bucks again. It probably won't last long (elections will be over soon). <_<
Have a mini gas war thing going here with the opening of a new convenience store. Started at 2.19 and now they are down to 1.96. At first the rest of town was still around 2.29, but they are all now trying to compete. Don't imagine it will last long and I filled up just before it happened, so won't need gas for quite some time.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(huskers @ Sep 23 2006, 10:29 PM) </div> $2.02 here in middle GA. Would somebody please explain to me or refer me to a web site that explains how politicians can manipulate the world wide price of crude oil for the purpose of influencing voters?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mootsman @ Sep 24 2006, 06:54 AM) </div> It is not the politicians...it is the big oil companies who would prefer a certain party stay in power so they can continue to work their manipulation of prices (along with lots of other factors).

A mini gas war in one small part of Atlanta (small but very busy intersection) brought gas down to $1.57 / gallon there. Caused lines and flared tempers. Otherwise it is in the $2-2.10 range.
