The Canucks get them, we denizens south of the border do not. Go figure.

I wish my Prius had the ability to become invisible when I so choose to make it. Talk about being "stealth"-y! :D Otherwise, my Prius is fine just the way it is...

    1. higher ground clearance - been driving my prius for less than two months and scraped the front of it a couple of times already leaving a parking lot (and I usually drive pretty slow out of those dips in the parking lot exits/entrances)
    2. display on the cd changer - seems like a lot of wasted space that could be used to display the audio system information - funny that it's just dark there with no purpose
    3. trunk release from driver's side (or from keyfob) - my old accord had a trunk release right next to the gas tank release, i thought that was pretty convenient

If no one has mentioned this yet I would like:
    1) a handle on the rear hatch door for pulling the door down easier.
    2) while I find the seats ok I know that one friend that I convinced to buy a Prius would prefer the seats she had in her previous RAV4, so cushier seats
    3) a friendlier, easier to control climate system, I want to be able to shut it off completely, hard to do with the system as is, also I'd like it not to immediately switch to heating if the outside temp drops below the A/C temp
    4) a bell tone to tell me when I've left the headlights in the on position
    5) a plug-in hybrid with bigger battery bank
    6) a body style like the old (2002-2005) RAV4, my husband really wants a RAV4 hybrid that gets 54mpg like our Prius does. And we live on a dirt road that periodically gets washed out so higher ground clearance would be nice as I have to drive my 15 mpg pick-up truck when that happens
    7) a back-up beeper on the outside as standard feature, the car is so silent that many people don't notice when you're backing up in a parking lot, I'd like this for the lawsuit inhibition in case one of the idiots manages to bump into my car.

However overall I love my Prius!

It'd be nice if the cup holders could be adjustable to grip cups of different sizes. I've found myself driving one handed around sharp corners to keep one hand on the coffee.

Yea.. that's the most pressing issue I can come up with. :)

With regards to #1, there is one! It's on the inside of the hatch door, on the right side. Believe me, I'm 5'2" and I've found it to be very handy and useful when opening & closing the hatch 2+ times per day. Sometimes I'm able to perfectly close the hatch using the inside handle with just the right amount of gusto without having to push it shut from the outside and risk getting fingerprints all over the glossy black paint. ;)

With regards to #7, you can add an aftermarket external/exterior beeper, I'm pretty sure of it. Similar to what large trucks and RV's have when they're in reverse to alert those around that the vehicle is backing up.

It's not a trunk, that's why there is no "trunk release." A hatch is considered as another door...so, just as there is no door release for the driver's door, there is none for the hatch.

Eliminate the gearshift lever because it's too easy to bump and convert all gear selection to buttons OR a combo-dial where gears are selected by the turn of a dial and "B" is selected from "D" by a push/pull action. A good example of a dial selector would be the Honda Fit's selector used on that stereo system's volume dial; a dial where the knurl gets wider nearest the driver so that it's easy to grab ahold of for turning and/or pushing/pulling.

A better design would reduce the confusion that the current button/lever design causes for valet personnel.

My previous car (which I still have) is a top-of-the-line 2000 Avalon, and I miss some of the extras on that car -- some of which have already been mentioned in this thread. The things I miss the most are the automatic headlights feature, and the sun/moon roof.

How would you bump into it if you all motions require a down (B) or a left and a down (D). It's also in the same order as a regular transmission - PRND

I'd love it if the Prius came with a lovely young woman in the passenger seat.

(I'd forego the optional baby in the baby seat though.)

    - Standard in Canada

    - bought it from Coastal

    - You can get blue tinted mirrors from Japan (Prius Accessory). It reduces glare but doesn't auto-dim. You can get rear sunshades from here: www.autoshades.com They even have a power rear sunshade!

    - I agree!!

Funny, I'd love to get stuff that's available in the States such as HIDs and a backup camera that's available in lower packages (we have to buy the loaded model with nav to get a backup camera)

A panel on the rear hatch that lights up green when you are running on battery power to let all the other drivers know that you're not buring any gasoline. :D

    1. Better handling.

    2. Easier gliding. I wish I could program the car to glide without regenerative braking when neither the brake pedal nor the accelerator pedal are depressed. The car would still use regenerative braking with light and moderate brake pedal pressure.
