Grinding sound

    Hi guys,

    I have recently noticed something strange with my prius C. When I turn on the headlight dim light (antenna light), I can hear some grinding noise .

    Has anyone encounter this problem?

    DRL daytime running lamp?

    And where is the sound coming from?

    Maybe means turning on the "parking lights", all the small lights, but not the main headlight?

    you have led and other stuff running on the 12v ?

    After market headlights?

    Might be some electrical feedback (not sure of true word)

    Yes that's what I'm hearing... The after market lighting is creating a noise, perhaps through the stereo? OR maybe it's the phone reacting to the frequency/noise of the lighting somehow?

    Agree that it sounds like electrical noise (i.e., RF interference) rather than grinding. Does it sound the same if the sound system is off?

    inverter driver for the EL wire could easily bleed into something else & upset the amplifier in your stereo.
