I was looking around on the forums here for the best sun shades because I have some time before the Prius arrives and I want to have some lovely accessories waiting for it. I have seen the sun shade offered on this site and the normal ones from walmart and stuff but I was wondering if there are ones that you don't have to fold up. For example, it would be like a long bar at the bottom of the dash and you would just leave it there. When you need it you just pull it up and hook it onto your visor or rear view mirror. I just cant figure out why most sunshades are so huge but on my house windows I have small little bars on the top of the window and I just pull out the shade kinda like that cover in the hatch. Also many have complained that the sun visors don't have side pull-outs. I have never seen these but have always wanted them. Did anybody find any for the Prius? (and yes I hate the sun <_< <--- vampire smilie)

I still use my roll up heat shield if it is very hot. But most of the summer I find this more convenient. It is a bit shorter so not 100% coverage and I think not as reflective, but it is there and out of the way ready to use so I use it.

You can buy different lengths, but if too big the mirror is too in the way. Too short and you get some sun through at the top and bottom.

I may try to add a power one for the rear window, but that has an odd shape and looks even harder to fit.
