And it was wonderful. My Silver Pine Prius with Package #3 and some other add-ons was the highlight of my day yesterday! She's fun to drive, cool to look at, has lots of buttons and after my 40 mile commute to work she's at 48 mpg's - life it good! Of course, there are somethings I need to get used to, like the lack of pick-up. And somethings I need to look into, like all the damn energy stuff. But, I'm proud to say that my 2890 pound baby has come home after 2.2 weeks of waiting! The key thing, a small problem though. I sort of take for granted that I don't need a key to get in or out or to drive it. So, my house keys are sitting on the kitchen table. I am locked out of my house. But hey, I can drive! I gotta figure something out... New Visitor and Owner, Jenn
Jenn. Welcome to Priuschat and the wonderful world of Prius ownership. I hope you have a comfortable chair because there's a lot of information to soak up. Drive hybrid. Drive happy.
<_< From what I've seen on the forums, both Virginia and Massachusetts dealers have Prius in stock, some even discount off MSRP. 2.2 WEEKS could well be correct. If I buy-up or trade-up, I will consider purchase in that area for the afoementioned reasons... would indicate an individual sale of my '04 in that instance.
Enjoy your new Prius - you'll enjoy your car more and more every day. There's a lot to learn here at PriusChat and all of your questions can be answered by the intelligent posters here. DavidTO - I am sure you will also love your new baby. Congratulations to both of you.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(PeakFinder @ Sep 22 2006, 03:05 PM) </div> Too bad Toyota doesn't have a tracking system for their Priuses in route (like UPS and FedEx) so you can see on a daily basis where your car is on it's way from Japan to you...or even a little streaming video cam so you can keep an eye on it during the long trip over. Now that would be cool! And I waited 5.5 months, although almost 5 of those months were spent simply waiting for 2005 to end. I got my Prius just over a month into 2006 as I didn't want to take delivery prior to 1/1/06.
I still have a bit over a month before I can officially be the "I am now a new Prius Owner Club" but when it does eventually arrive it will be my Christmas day! And this most likely will be a 2007 at that.
