    The battery that ended up in the car is an aftermarket unit from Auto Zone. Had I installed it myself, I'm sure I could have paid much less.

    Maybe not.
    At least not if you got one of good quality.
    Autozone advertises free installation of batteries.
    Did you pay extra for the labor ??

    I went to Pep Boys. They picked up the battery from Auto Zone since Pep Boys didn't carry them.

    She wrote $210 installed. The battery is $140 at Autozone.
