Please riddle me this: can the backup beeping be reduced to a single short beep (then silence) when putting the car in reverse? Or can it only be turned from a series of beeps into a single looooooong beep for the duration of time the car is in reverse? Went to dealer today to have beeping turned off, or at least reduced, but they claim the style of beep can only be changed, not the duration. Thanks in advance!
Your dealer is wrong. It is either continuous beeps or a single short beep (then silence). With OBDII dongle and phone app, you can change it yourself.
For customizing PRIME, Carista and its app are the best. The OBD adaptor is cheap $19, but the app is a subscription base. However, you get 30 days free trial subscription, so you can just download the app and sign up for a subscription and do all the customization you want then cancel the subscription before the free trial period ends.
my dealer change the default beeping to one single beep when you put in revere and then silence and it was for free. Good luck.
Take it back to the dealer and tell them to do the change. Not changing it for you is preposterous. Point out your next car might be a Ford.
