.After about 175 Miles on the new Head Gasket in the 2012 Prius 2, the Intake Manifold looks like this.
The Motor is running Fantastic.! (230 miles on the new Head Gasket) No Oil in the Catch Can! (just Water!!!) 62 Miles with the OCC
This is the same car you had water pooled atop the intake valves? From living on the "wet" coast?? Is there any baffle in that can?
I don't live on the coast. Nope. That was the Red 2011 car that had Gas pooled atop the intake valves.
Wow!!! I do about 80 Miles a Week Every 3 months, I take a 700 mile round trip. So, I takes forever to rack up miles.
I'm happy not to have to drive that many miles, but I have to say, OP has impressive skills. Great job, too. It's also good work when it's something you enjoy doing, of course! Two thumbs up at minimum.
Awwww Shucks Toyota is my favorite. Prius is Super Fun to work on. It's nice that you don't have to remove the inverter assembly in the Gen 3 (unlike the the previous Gens) Thanks again for the Compliment. If anyone in my area needs help working on their car, look me up, I would be happy to help.
So Cosmo, what happened to the old 208k motor? There are a few things here that bother me: 1) 93,000 mile motor needing a headgasket? 2) Random White Smoke But Not a Head Gasket? 3) How bad was the EGR plumbing on the low mileage motor?
I have the old 208 motor in my garage waiting for repair. 1) Yeah, I'm sure they lied about mileage 2) Was determined to be cold weather condensation and Water in the exhaust that worked its way out. 3) There was less than 50% clog
